Irish Stew:
907 grams (2 pounds) Lamb 680 grams (1 ½ pounds) Potatoes 5 medium Onions Chopped Parsley & Thyme to taste Salt and Pepper to taste 375 ml (1 ½ cups Sham-Bock fine Ale)
Trim & cut meat into cubes. Peel & slice Potatoes and Onions. Put layers of Potatoes, Meat, Onions and Herbs and seasoning into a pot, finishing with a layer of Potatoes.
Pour Sham-Bock Ale over the meat & vegetables and bring to a boil. Simmer gently for about 2 hours or bake in a slow oven at 150 C (300 F) Check during cooking, adding more Sham-Bock if necessary. Makes 4 Servings. |
